Bubble Day 2010

During April, Autism Awareness month in Australia, Autism Asperger ACT Inc is using the symbolism of bubbles to represent the nature of autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). Bubble Day has been designed to help children with ASDs to burst out of their bubble of isolation, and to raise awareness and understanding of autism in school communities. We aim to share knowledge of pervasive developmental disorders with the community.

School teachers with children with ASDs in their classrooms have a significant role. They can help integrate children
with ASDs into the classroom and playground. We hope that having a great day at school will help you to develop a program that is not only fun but furthers understanding of ASDs in the community.

For parents and children with ASDs, life can be lonely and feelings of isolation are often acute. We appreciate your help in creating accepting and understanding environments.
